Overview

Scanner is our new browser-based tool that brings powerful real-time market scanning capabilities directly to your web browser. The platform allows you to monitor market movements, discover trading opportunities, and receive instant notifications when stocks meet your specified criteria.

Key Features

Filter Builder

The Filter Builder is the heart of the Scanner platform, allowing you to create custom scans by setting specific criteria for stocks. You can combine multiple filters to narrow down your search based on technical indicators, price movements, volume patterns, and more.

When you're ready to focus on trading, simply collapse the filter panel using the "Hide Filters" button. For detailed information on all available filters and their functions, please refer to the Filter Reference page.

Scan Results

The Scan Results section displays real-time matches that meet your filter criteria. As market conditions change throughout the trading day, the results update automatically, showing you the most current opportunities.

You can sort the results by any column to prioritize the information most important to your trading strategy.

Additional columns can be added to the scan results table for monitoring and sorting by clicking on the Columns dropdown on the right.

Clicking on any stock in the results will open its detailed QuickView.

QuickView

QuickView provides an instant, comprehensive overview when you select a stock from your scan results. It displays a detailed interactive chart alongside critical stock information and key Level 2 information. This consolidated view gives you all the relevant data you need to make informed trading decisions without having to navigate to different screens or tools.

Activity Log

The Activity Log, located at the bottom of the window, provides a chronological record of stocks entering and exiting your scan in real-time. This feature helps you track which stocks are newly qualifying for your scan criteria throughout your trading session.

It's important to note that the Activity Log only records events when the scanner is open and active—it does not capture events when the scanner is closed.

Notification Sounds

Integrated with the Activity Log, the notification sound feature allows you to stay informed about new scan results without constantly watching your screen.

You can customize sounds to alert you whenever a new stock enters your scan, enabling you to multitask while still catching important trading opportunities as they arise.

Creating New Scans

The Scanner platform offers two convenient methods for creating scans.

The Create Scan button, located in the top left corner, allows you to start with a blank slate and build a completely new scan from scratch.

Alternatively, the Duplicate Scan function lets you clone an existing scan to use as a starting point, maintaining all the original filters while allowing you to make adjustments as needed.
